Fat Removal:
A new non-invasive fat-removal laser treatment will be good news to anyone struggling to shift excess weight. The machine, Zerona, has four flexible laser arms that can target specific areas of stubborn fat on thighs, stomach, hips and arms. The lasers stimulate and shrink fat cells, creating pores in the cell walls allowing fat to be released into the body, where it’s safely broken down by the lymphatic system, transported to the liver and removed. Painfree, the FDA-approved treatment helps patients lose an average of 3.52 inches in two weeks, with some losing as much as nine inches. Six 40-minute sessions are recommended, although the number of treatments required will depend on weight and age. The best results appear to be for patients of an average weight with stubborn areas of fat. Unlike liposuction, no bruising or recovery time have been reported. London surgeon Christopher Inglefield, of the London Bridge Plastic Surgery, says: “Zerona’s technology has harnessed the laws of natural science to develop a laser that functions at just the right wavelength to create a biological reaction in the cell. The development of technology to complement natural science is fast becoming the future of medical aesthetic procedures.” A course of six treatments starts at £900-£1,500, depending on clinic. www.findzerona.co.uk

New treatments combining radio frequency (RF) with micro needling are set to be a big trend. Intracel, for example injects the RF energy under the skin for deeper, more targeted results than traditional RF treatments. Ideal for tightening and lifting sagging around the neck, chin and jowls and plumping out deep wrinkles and marionette lines. From £795. www.lighttouchclinic.co.uk

Laser face-lift: Dark circles, neck lines, large pores, saggy skin and fine lines? Then you may want to try the latest in beauty laser technology, the Harmony XLi Pixel Q Switched Laser. Unlike traditional fractional or pixelated laser skin resurfacing treatments, this new technology divides up the laser light in to multiple fractions that go deeper into the dermis and cause regeneration from underneath with no injury to the skin’s surface and no residual redness. Suitable for all ages and skin types, three to five sessions are recommended, with each 20-minute session costing around £300 per area. Available at Urban Retreats and other clinics.
